HEALTH AND LICENSE DEPARTMENT

OBJECTIVE

    •  To ensure all business premises and billboards in the areas administered by the Council have valid license from the Council

    •  To decide and ensure all traders and hawkers who are running their business have valid license from the Council and always abide by the regulations set by the Council

    •  To ensure that the management of Licensing Unit is exceptional, well mannered and follows the required procedure and quality standard

    •  To increase the Council's earnings through earnings from business license imbursement for services purposes and help to carry out development projects and basic facilities for tax payers

    •  To create, organise, control business development and encourage Bumiputera involvement in economic and social aspects

    •  To coordinate, perform and act on law enforcement as allocated by the Johor bahru tengah municipal council

CUSTOMER CHARTER - HEALTH SECTION

  • To ensure that waste collection service by the Southern Waste Management Sdn. Bhd. is satisfactory and on schedule:
    • Residential houses - three times a week
    • Shop, factory etc - every working day
  • Always strive to ensure clean and beautiful environment through services such as:
    • Grass trimming - twice a month
    • Drain cleaning - twice a month
    • Cleaning the city areas and main roads - everyday
  • Any public report received will be investigated and action will be taken within two working days
  • Always take safety precaution and preventive action on contagious diseases

 

CUSTOMER CHARTER - LICENSE SECTION

•  Application for Business Premises License and Advertisement License that have been completed along with a recommendation letter from the Technical Department and other relevant documents, the approval for the license will be given within 120 working days from date received

•  Issuance of Temporary Business Premise License categorised under the Council's policy will be made within seven working days from the date received

•  License for stall, arcade and Council's market which has been issued to the applicant will be brought into the Council's meeting for approval within 120 working days and applicants will be required to follow the conditions set by the Council

•  Application for Hawkers' License which has been completed will be given approval within 120 working days from date received

•  Night Market License will be issued within seven working days provided there is any vacant lot available and the approval for the license will be made in 120 working days

•  Application for Dog License which has been completed along with a recommendation letter for neighbours and other relevant documents will be approved within 120 working days

•  Business License renewal will be given immediately and the applicant will be required to follow the conditions set by the Council

•  Any public report received will be investigated and action will be taken within two working days

 

FUNCTION OF DEPARMENT

  • To process, decide and issue new license and bill board on various business license:
    • Business and billboard license
    • Hawker and night market license
    • Market, arcade and stall license
    • Season license, promotional license
  • To collect Council earnings through licensing and management of small traders
  • To plan and control business activities and development of small traders
  • To analyze and determine licensing policies and conditions of the Council from time to time
  • To enforce Minor Laws as allocated and to take action accordingly
  • To carry out programs that have been planned and awareness campaigns that include participation from the traders towards harmonious life and environment for local society
  • To update license data and information for Johor bahru tengah municipal council
