The Johor State Government has targeted a new benchmark as a model for the agricultural industry in Malaysia by introducing and spreading the development of integrated bio farming.

Approximately 3,642 hectares of land in Tanjung Balau, an area near the Desaru resort, has been allocated and named Bio Desaru - Organic Food Valley.

The main function for the introduction of Bio Desaru is to increase food production through crops, livestock and aquaculture. Apart from, being a center for research and training.

Johor Biotechnology and Biodiversity Corporation (JBBC) has been given the responsibility to develop Bio Desaru into an agricultural development region based on modern biotechnology.

Bio Desaru has so far received investments from foreign and local companies amounting to 1.5 billion.

With the facilities and flow of investments, Bio Desaru would certainly become an Organic Food Hub and an Agricultural Tourism Center someday. Simultaneously, accomplishing the Johor State Government and the Malaysian Government objectives.
